2 Steps To Success

Updated: Feb 13, 2019

Success

“What's the number one most important part of your weekly routine?”

This is a question I was asked recently. As entrepreneurs breaking language barriers and growing companies, I believe weekly routines are highly valuable. So, I'm going to share a weekly process with you that is an absolute necessity in my routine.

At the end of each week, I sit down and ask myself two questions:

  1. “What went right?”

  2. “Where do I need support to move forward?”

Now, you can sit down and answer 100 questions every week if you want to make this more complicated. But, there is a reason why I use these two extraordinarily simple questions.

1. What went right?

Each week I want to actively look for success. Because here's what happens, and you know this as an entrepreneur. We focus on where or what we miss and all that could have been gone better. We'll focus on the things we still have to do. We're not naturally driven to acknowledge where we have achieved success. So, that first question is crucial to find what's driving success and giving you momentum.

For me, wins are things like on-boarding an excellent new team member, adding incredible new clients into our programs, helping a client reach a milestone or breakthrough something that was holding them back and growing as individuals.

I take the time once a week to revel in everything that was amazing. I write it out and recognize it.

2. Where do I need support to move forward?

I reflect on what I need to move forward, where I feel frustrated and what’s slowing me down and who I need to reach out to? It might be that I need help scheduling my calendars or clarification on where we’re at with a project or just need to talk with someone who has been through and succeeded at the same things. I write it down, so I know what I need, how to go about it and what I cannot do alone.

This is an exercise in perspective. It is incredibly motivating, connecting, and fulfilling to have an understanding of where the challenges are and what level of success you're creating.

If you're looking to get more out of every single week, answering those two little questions will change everything for you. This is one of the most critical parts of my weekly routine for long term success.

I want to help you understand what you need to charge towards your goals. As entrepreneurs here's a fact, we're not going to slow down, stop, or quit moving forward. We will always be pressing for more. Don't let yourself feel like you can't make progress because you absolutely can.

With Gratitude,

Jason
